A new season is approaching. For Vientiane Cycling this will mean a very different approach. Last season we started with a very nice climbing squad that was on the edge of 3rd division and Zyte. During the season we were able to build an cobble squad next to the climbing squad, and this enabled us to get into the top division. With the end of the season approaching our climbing squad is being sold. Instead of climbing we will focus on Sprinting and Cobbling for the upcoming seasons.
This means that the following climbers left/will leave the team: Sayavutthi, Arispana, Dyson, Nydahl, Slovak and Elssen. In addition to these riders the cobblers Lisson, Diaz and Dance will also be leaving the team soon. We thank these 9 riders for their work at their team.
On the other hand the sprinters Billido, de Nooter and Bellamy have already joined our squad. Bellamy will be used as a LO and as a captain for Hilly-Sprints. Furthermore Noud Bosz (Who has the same name as the manager) has joined the squad. With Incredible potential in CB and Very Good potential in FR we are really looking forward to training him.
Three other riders will be joining the team soon. Giofrola (Xtreme Cycling) will be joining our team in a swap that will include Lisson and Dance. Sebastiaan Pruischer (DCM) will join the team for a large chunck of our budget. Lastly, Perry Wuets (SilenceLotteFan) will join our team in a swap with Sancho Arispana. All of these transfers should occur on day 1 of the upcoming season.
With these new riders we think we have a firm basis to compete in both the Sprinting and Cobbling part of OCM. A minor budget of 100k+ will be left for one more LO to strengthen these sections. After these transfers we hope to make in impact in some important top division races, such as the Tour van Antwerpen.
Now that our new plans have been presented, we want to wish everybody a very good and successful season!
Good Luck!
